Seethawaka students visit DPMC Workshop Matara

In a valuable initiative that strengthens the connection between practical experience with academics, 38 Advanced Level students from the Technology Stream of Seethawaka Central College in Awissawella, along with 04 teachers and 02 parents, visited the DPMC Workshop Matara during their annual educational trip.

The visit, which took place as part of the school’s efforts to provide students with firsthand exposure to real-world practical and technical environment, was the highlight of the year for the students. The David Pieris Group, well-known for its commitment to supporting education in technical fields as part of its corporate social responsibility, graciously hosted the group and facilitated the visit.

The students were given the opportunity to observe and learn about the advanced technical operations at the workshop, gaining deeper insights into the intricate processes involved in motor vehicle maintenance, repair and servicing. With the workshop's highly skilled technicians demonstrating the use of modern equipment, the students were able to witness how theoretical knowledge in areas such as mechanics, engineering and technology is applied in practice.

The principal of Seethawaka Central College expressed sincere gratitude to David Pieris Group for providing students with such an invaluable learning experience.
