The MCA ‘E’ division 25-over League Tournament 2018, powered by David Pieris Group of Companies for the 16thconsecutive year as the 2nd longest running MCA sponsorship, started on Saturday 17th March 2018. The Tournament is played for the glittering 'DPGC Challenge Trophy'.
Earlier, this tournament was played as a 30-over-a side tournament with 2 half-day matches simultaneously taking place per day (120 overs per day).
The following 28 teams in 4 Groups are vying for the DPGC Challenge Trophy this year:

David Pieris Group wins Mercantile Volleyball Championship 2017

David Pieris Group, playing in the Mercantile Volleyball Championship under its Championship category, bagged the title defeating Chrystal Martin Katunayake at the final held at the Indoor Courts of the National Youth Services Council, Maharagama recently.
Kalindu Mihiruk of David Pieris was adjudged the Best Player while Nalinda Channa of the same team won the Best Setter award. The tournament was organised by the Mercantile Volleyball Association.

David Pieris Group trains Northern women in auto repair

David Pieris Group trains Northern women in auto repair
The David Pieris Group successfully concluded another programme to train women for repair Bajaj three wheelers in Kilinochchi recently.
This initiative will provide technical training in the repair of three-wheelers with the ultimate goal of creating trained, certified women mechanics. It is the first of its kind in Sri Lanka, as it is the only mechanic based technical programme targeting women only, started by the DP Group few months ago.
The programme was organized and fully funded by the Group's Social Welfare Committee.
